The curtain-wall office gets too hot in summer — where should we start?

Start by identifying where the heat comes from. About 52% of solar radiation is invisible near-infrared heat; it passes through ordinary glass and turns into indoor heat — the main reason AC struggles. ESEC2.5 mounts outside the glass and reflects that heat back outdoors (88% total solar reflectance, 96.5% near-infrared reflectance), cutting heat gain at the source instead of fighting it with more AC.

West-facing rooms stay hot even with curtains — why?

Ordinary curtains block visible light, not near-infrared heat — and once closed, the room goes dark. ESEC2.5 instead uses spectrally selective reflection against near-infrared heat while keeping 10% visible-light transmission, so insulation, daylight and the view coexist: lower it to cool down, and the scenery outside stays clear.

How does it actually affect the air conditioning? How much can it save?

With much lower heat gain inside the glass, temperature swings narrow, the cooling setpoint can go up by about 3°C, and the AC load drops at the source. Does it solve UV and furniture fading?

Accepted Answer

Yes. ESEC2.5 blocks 99.9% of UV, sharply reducing long-term photo-ageing of skin, office furniture, carpets, wood veneers and exhibits.

Does installation require removing windows or closing the office? Does it touch the curtain wall structure?

Accepted Answer

Neither. ESEC2.5 mounts on the outer side, is lightweight and leaves the original curtain wall structure unchanged. A typical space is finished in one day, with night or weekend scheduling — normal office work is barely affected.

We already have Low-E glass — is extra shading still needed?

Accepted Answer

Low-E glass mainly improves insulation (lower heat transfer), while west-sun pain points come largely from direct solar heat gain. The two do not conflict: adding ESEC2.5 outside existing Low-E glazing completes the solar-reflection layer — a complement, not a replacement.

15-year design service life, 100% formaldehyde-free, and it does not damage the facade. Routine care is largely surface cleaning; optional motorised control can integrate with building automation.
